Currently in my life, I have been feeling very stressed out and overwhelmed. The majority of my stress comes from schoolwork, grades, ACT scores, college applications, volunteer hours for National Honor Society, and being an officer to National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Spanish Club, and Senior Class.
I think the reason why this seems so overwhelming to me right now is that I have been procrastinating more than usual. (Which I used to never do. I have no idea why I have fallen into this bad habit.) Also I tend to put a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself which causes me to worry and stress about these minor things all the time. I have problems sleeping at night because I am so worried about my grades and school work. I also have major anxiety issues before taking tests and quizzes. This is something I am currently working on overcoming.
I think that if I could get my stress under control, stop procrastinating, and no longer have test taking anxiety than I would be able to manage things a little bit better.

Well, some people just have test taking problems, and that okay because those can be fixed. You will do fine, you are a smart girl and get things done on time and A work. As for the procrastinating part, i have a word for that. Its called seniouritis, it develops when a person in getting bored of the high school process and needs something new (cough cough COLLEGE). It'll stop when you get there next year
ReplyDeleteI think it was Tom I told this but I will tell you too. Stress is horrible I know that. Do you have any stress releivers, or things you do before tests, such as deep breathing. If you do it enough it becomes a great tool for anxiety attacks. Or for the stress of everything part. Find somewhere you can go by yourself. In the middle of a field, or the woods, if you need to use a pillow it works and just scream or yell as loud as you can. Get it all out. I do his from time to time It really does work for me at least.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel about being stressed out, but I'm sure we'll all handle it just fine once we get into a habit... According to Michelle it could take up to 66 days, so hang in there and try not to procrastinate. Try making lists and staying organized of what absolutely NEEDS to be done, and what can wait until the next day. I've recently started doing this myself and I think it makes my work load seem smaller than when I'm just trying to remember what I have to do.
